Thank You All!

A big thank you to those of you who came out and made the warm-blooded evening that was Fairweather Friends’ February 4th record release party. Your sweet and dripping love reception in combination with the rampant animal print, the roving brass, the textured honey vocal gift, the blissed out bass and drums, made for a balmy winter evening in that brick-walled bar. We appreciate your support, hope you love the album, and look forward to getting down-homey cozy with you many nights more.

Our gratitude to Kyle Miller and company, who appeared together in their first public incarnation after three weeks together to deliver a refined and spirited performance. To Bad Sound for traveling in from all around, and for their fun and funky song-and-dance. And to Lionus, for maintaining the night’s life with his morse code amalgamation of throb and pulse, you kept us all loose-limbed and turned loose into the early morning.

Love and see you soon,
Salvation Recording Co. & Fairweather Friends

P.S.- Please, get your hands on the record if you haven’t. This is honest music from the gut that breaths like modern folklore, our day’s oral history, and it will call your body to move to a rhythm that precedes time and place…

It’s Been A Long Road

Friends, Family, and Fans,

When Adir and Jed asked me to get involved with this record, in the sweltering heat of summer, we had no idea what we were getting into. They were somewhere in the ballpark of a year’s worth of tracking and had blown through two sets of mixes. We picked an impossible two week deadline. Thinking back now I can’t help but laugh about it, and when we missed it, I promised Adir that all things worth doing take time. Even I didn’t know how much time we would devote to this record, though. A tour, a trip to Israel, another release or two, have all come to pass before an end was finally in sight. We even had to change the name of the record, all the while reminding each other that all things worth doing take time. It has been a test of our patience, ingenuity, friendship, and faith. It has served to prove and to teach us the reasons that we do this and why we do this together. All the while reminding us that all things worth doing take time.

We spent this past weekend at Marcata Recording, mastering the record with Kevin Mcmahon. It wasn’t until then that we realized there was actually an end to this long road. In shock, we listened to the finished product of this thing we had all put so much into and sent it off to press. I can honestly say that I couldn’t be more proud to have had a hand in its making and I think it really shows that all things worth doing take time. I hope you all agree.

At midnight I am proud to announce that we are giving you all a sneak peak of what you’ve been waiting years to hear! Stay tuned for the single from “These Years On The Boat”!!!

Love,

Christopher Daly

A Success

The very first annual Salvation Recording Co., Route 32, and Ritual Halloween Scavenger Hunt was a wild success. Our winning team, “Team Did You Hit Tom Christie?” came by last night for their prizes and to show off their sweet new tattoos!

Why do they have such awesome new tattoos and what the hell does that have to do with our scavenger hunt you ask? Take a look at the list of tasks and find out for yourselves! Let us know what you think, get excited for next years, and if you guys are interested enough we may start doing this for more than just Halloween!

I’ve been waiting way too long to do this…

I wasn’t allowed to drop this Live at the Inn so as to not detract from the wonderful album we released together, “Our Evil Inside Joke”. I think enough time has passed, though, and you all deserve need to hear this!

This was recorded on a night when nothing seemed to go right for me or Salvation Recording Co. A bunch of my best gear broke, some people got rowdy at the Inn, the recordings got messed up, and at the end of the night I asked an inebriated Jake Harms to take the stage and fix it all for me. He came through, brightened everyone’s evening, and I was able to salvage the recordings despite all the broken equipment. I sincerely hope you all enjoy this as much as I do!
